Meet Our Internal Medicine Primary Care Providers of Kingsport

Jeffrey Summers, MD, FACP

Dr. Summers is the chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and the Division Chief of General Internal Medicine at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science with a double major in math and chemistry (Cum Laude) from Hobart College in Geneva, NY. He obtained a Doctorate of Medicine from Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH. He completed his internship and residency at the General Hospital, Rochester, NY.

Melania Bochis, MD

Dr. Bochis is an assistant professor at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine  and is board certified in Internal Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. She received a Master of Science in Physics and Teaching at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She completed her residency at ETSU/QCOM in Johnson City, TN. She was chief resident at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Christopher Cook, DO

Dr. Cook is an Assistant Professor at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He completed his internship and residency at ETSU/QCOM in Johnson City, TN.

David R. Ginn, MD, FACP

Dr. Ginn is a professor at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine and is board certified in internal medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. He received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota Medical School. His medical training included an internship and residency at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Diana Nunley-Gorman, MD

Dr. Nunley-Gorman is a professor and an associate program director of internal medicine at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine  and is board certified in Internal Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Carson-Newman College and her medical degree from ETSU/QCOM in Johnson City, TN. She completed her residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. She completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at ETSU/QCOM as well.

Susan D. Fields, LCSW

SUSAN D. FIELDS, L.C.S.W., received her Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, in May 1993, and completed her certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, state of Tennessee, in December 1995.   Mrs. Fields has been a Mandatory Pre-Screening Agent since 2006 for the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.

 

Mrs. Fields worked as a psychotherapist through the Frontier Mental Health System from 1992 through 1997,  in the Department of Children and Youth, serving in Johnson City, Erwin, and Bristol, Tennessee.   She later joined ETSU Quillen College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, from 1997 through 2006, as a clinical assistant professor providing education to psychiatric residents in the field of child and family intervention, as well as  maintaining a psychotherapy practice.   During her tenure at the Department of Psychiatry she provided treatment as well as training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder.

 

Mrs. Fields joined the Department of Internal Medicine in February 2007.   Along with providing psychotherapy services for our patients at the Kingsport and Johnson City, offices, she also provides services for the Division of Infectious Diseases.    Mrs. Fields accepts new patient appointments from outside of the ETSU system as well.
